Habakkuk 2:2-3

Then the LORD said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.
3  This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

Reflection

The Prophet Habakkuk had become frustrated with what he perceived God was doing or not doing. (Take a few minutes to read the first chapter of Habakkuk which could have been written in recent days). Habakkuk was struggling to understand how God’s plans would succeed. From man’s perspective, what God was doing didn’t
seem to make sense!

When we become impatient, frustrated or feel let down because it looks as though God has not heard or acted on our prayers, or we see things happen and don’t understand how God could allow them, remember what God’s Word says:

1 Corinthians 1:25

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the
weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Psalm 90:4

A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.

Prayer

Father God, please forgive us when we fail to see the bigger picture, when we think that You haven’t heard our prayers. Would You, by Your Holy Spirit comfort and strengthen us to know that Your timing is perfect, that Your plans are unshakeable and that You have our best interests at heart.

Your will be done. In Jesus Name.

Amen
