St Peter’s Bengeworth is a growing Church in Evesham, East of the River Avon. The church has recently embarked upon a renewal project, with the aim of giving the church a renewed focus on mission in the community. This is a long-term initiative with the full backing of Worcester Diocese and with several people moving into the parish to live here and support the church in this exciting new chapter.
About the Role
We are looking for someone to be the supportive ‘backbone’ to church activities, providing key administrative support at a pivotal stage in our development. They will work with the Vicar in setting up and managing both ongoing courses such as Alpha and one-off church events. co-ordinating volunteer teams and ensuring that the buildings are clean, accessible and secure. They will also manage the administration of life events (weddings, funerals, baptisms and dedications) and assist the clergy in preparing records.
Most importantly, they will be a key contact for new people, providing a warm Kingdom welcome to all who encounter the Church.
You will be a warm and winsome person who is friendly, consistent, patient, and helpful. You will be pastorally sensitive, self-aware, and quick to forgive.
You will have experience of working with volunteers in either a church or charity setting, as well as with salaried staff.
You will excel in leading teams and be able to think strategically and take initiative. You will be a team player who supports and encourages others, while being able to work independently, knowing how to prioritise under pressure.
